WileyOutdoorSports.com is the Premier Hunting and Outdoor Specialty Store on the Internet. We are an extension, yet distinctly different, business of the family-owned Wiley Outdoor Sports. In fact, they are our retail partner. As many of you may know, Wiley Outdoor Sports was established in 1953 and consists of two thriving retail stores in North Alabama. In years past, Wiley's has been a significant mail order specialist in the hunting market since the 1960's as well as being the first and premier outfitter to over three generations of outdoorsman. The reason WileyOutdoorSports.com exists is because it can! We know one of the most attractive elements of the internet is that we can deliver pricing from a business model that far exceeds what has been available before. Make no mistake! We are here to be profitable! However, we believe that that is only an extension of what happens when you do business with the same proven principles of giving customers what they want! The absolute best products at the best price and with the best service! We demand it of ourselves! That's something we've been doing since 1953. We're not about to forget how! Who are the people behind WileyOutdoorSports.com?

My name is David Wiley; technically, David Wiley, Jr. I am the one who ultimately is responsible for what occurs at WileyOutdoorSports.com. However, don't let that mislead you. As with any good idea that is developed and prospers, this is a TEAM EFFORT. The only thing I've been given is encouragement and the opportunity to succeed and fail. I'm extremely blessed to be able to work with a group of talented, caring individuals who have been put together with their unique skills to form a team that clicks. We don't have any fat in our dot-com (Lord knows!) and we won't put up with anyone who doesn't have the same work ethic and care and concern for the customer as part of our team.We don't rely on WileyOutdoorSports.com to pay our salary and we don't have a high influx of outside-investor cash to which we have to answer. We call this Freedom! We are doing this because we want to do you a tremendous service, we enjoy it and we will take knowledge home each day of having done a great job, day in and day out. If (when!) we get you as a customer, we will keep you!

Again, I am to be the visionary but, in truth, I have a great group of people that actually do most of the work! I could do nothing without them and I am grateful for them all. Remember, we are a small company that delivers big results and the two most visible people you will work with are Kathy Carter and her assistant, Denise. These two people are committed to having you as their own personal customers, even their friend. We expect you as a customer to be their buddy! They are commisioned to do everything humanly possible to get you the best price and the best service and follow-up that you will ever receive, just as anyone would for their buddy! We have no policies or boundaries as to what we have to do to please you. Our company is truly being formed one customer at a time and Kathy and Denise are here to insure just that. A not as visible person but our indispensible webmaster is David Mize. The look and feel, as well as the design and functionality of our web-site is due to his talent and hard work. When there are technical issues we look to Dmize and, thankfully, we can get the answer. We would never have gotten to where we are and are going without his skill and work ethic. We have many important others that we "borrow" in a support mode and all of their help is invaluable. Oh, yes, and don't forget Mrs.Wiley, who lets her son play.

Personally, I have put my name in front of WileyOutdoorSports.com and I expect the best out of myself to see that we get you as a customer and keep you as one! I have years of experience working with customers from all over the world and I know what it takes to deliver what I promise. Should we ever fail you on an occassion, I promise you to make it right. Remember, out whole mission is to AMAZE you. When each day is over I want to be able to say, "David, today you amazed even yourself!" If I can know that then I know you will, too.

Why internet shopping and why now?

As a certain television commercial says, "You're riding the wave of the future, my man!" In the late 1980's, I had wanted to continue to expand our mail order business but saw the general futility of risking all I had in a mail order market that was out-of-control on the expense end, with ever-increasing competition, with an extremely limited budget. While we had success, I saw mail order as being a business model that consumed resources (especially mine!) while not delivering the personal part of the business that makes up the fun part of working in the outdoor industry. Since my primary goal was not to get outside capital and become "rich", I dreamed of a method of delivering the products we sell, on a level playing field, whereby we could compete with anyone by controlling expenses and growing our business by word-of-mouth and through other creative outlets that only required hard-work and tenacity. Little did I realize that Al Gore had already, even then, invented the internet.Well, a vision and the timing have come together (Without a vision, the people perish/Goods things come to those who wait on the Lord). We believe in what we can offer on WileyOutdoorSports.com. We have the brands and the support of the best manufacturers in the outdoor industry. Our expenses are virtually nothing and, through our retail partner, Wiley Outdoor Sports, we have the gear on hand that are the most desired by outdoorsmen.
